Camera, Microphone & Location

Last updated: August 22, 2026

This notice explains why FOX LIVE may request device permissions for live streaming, calls, uploads, notifications, and discovery, and what happens when you decline or withdraw them.

1. Camera Usage

FOX LIVE uses your camera so you can broadcast live video, join video calls, and share camera content with other users. Camera access is requested only when you choose to go live, join a video call, or capture a photo/video for your profile, posts, or messages. You can deny camera access at any time in your device settings; live video and video calls will be unavailable, but other features remain available.

2. Microphone Usage

FOX LIVE uses your microphone so you can broadcast live audio, join calls, and send voice messages. Microphone access is requested only when you go live, join a call, or record a voice message. You can deny microphone access at any time in your device settings; audio features will be unavailable, but other features remain available.

3. Location Usage

FOX LIVE uses your approximate location (city, region, or country) to show relevant local content and improve discovery. We do not collect or share precise GPS coordinates. You can disable location-based discovery at any time in your profile or device settings, and the Nearby feature will simply show no local results.

4. How Permissions Are Used

Camera, microphone, and location data are used only to provide the feature you are actively using. Live video and audio are streamed to other users in the room you join. We do not access your camera or microphone in the background.

5. Photos, Videos & Media

When you choose to upload profile media, posts, message attachments, or other media, FOX LIVE may request access to photos, videos, files, or the platform media picker as needed for that action. FOX LIVE should request only the access needed for the user-selected feature.

6. Notifications

FOX LIVE may request notification permission to deliver account, message, live, safety, transaction, and service notifications. You can disable notifications in your device settings without deleting your account.

7. Withdrawing Permission

You can withdraw camera, microphone, media, notification, or location permission at any time in your device system settings. The corresponding features may stop working, but unrelated account features remain available.

8. Permission Minimization

FOX LIVE is designed to request sensitive permissions only when they are required for a user-facing feature. Permission behavior in the distributed Android build should be reviewed before each Google Play release and unused permissions should be removed.
